November 24, 1963. While the Dallas police are taking Oswald out through the basement of the police station as planned, Jack Ruby shoots and kills him in front of somewhere between 40 and 50 reporters and 70 police officers. The Warren Commission later determined that, “Ruby entered the basement unaided, probably via the Main Street ramp, and no more than 3 minutes before the shooting of Oswald.”
